You should drink water every day. Most people have been told they should drink 6 to 8 average size glasses of water each day. That is a reasonable goal. However, different people need different amounts of water to stay hydrated. Most healthy people can stay well hydrated by drinking water and other fluids whenever they feel thirsty.

For some people, fewer than 8 glasses may be enough. Other people may need more than 8 glasses each day. According to information from the “familydoctor.org”, If you are concerned that you are not drinking enough water, check your urine. If your urine is usually colorless or light yellow, you are well hydrated. If your urine is a dark yellow or amber color, you may be dehydrated.

Water is best for staying hydrated. Add slices of fruit or lemon to your water to make it more tasty and appealing. Herbal teas count towards your daily water intake but caffeine and alcohol dehydrate us and we need to limit the amount of these in our daily hydration plan.

It is often very cleansing to have a glass of warm to hot water with a slice of lemon each morning as you wake to start your daily hydration off on the right foot. Always travel in the car with a water bottle and if you are at the office most of the day, keep a water bottle on your desk so that you can keep tabs of your daily water intake.
